Distributed Admission Control for Anycast Flows with QoS Requirements

چکیده
In this paper, we study Distributed Admission Control (DAC) procedure for anycast flows with QoS requirements. We focus on algorithms that perform destination selection, which is critical in anycast. Several algorithms are proposed. These algorithms differ from each other in their dependence on system status information. We also address the issue of resource reservation and re-trial control in the DAC procedure. Performance data obtained by mathematical analysis and computer simulation show that in terms of admission probabilities, DAC systems that are based on local status information can perform closely to those that utilize global and dynamic status information. We note that the latter is much more expensive and difficult to realize.

Efficient Distributed Admission Control for Anycast Flows
Anycasting becomes an important research topic recently especially for the replicated servers where availability and fault-tolerance are critical for quality of service. With anycasting, applications can request the “nearest” server for provision of a desired services. In this paper, we study efficient Admission Control for Anycast (ACA) flows. We focus on algorithms that perform smart destinat...

The anycast communication protocol are to select the best server and route for a particular client from a group of replicated servers with similar contents. As users have come to demand contents with high QoS, the necessity to support the anycast communications in QoS networks has grown. In this paper, we propose a new application-level QoS-based anycast protocol in differentiated service netwo...

متن کاملA Measurement-Aided Model-Based Admission Control Scheme for IEEE 802.11e EDCA Wireless LANs
The IEEE 802.11e standard was introduced to overcome the lack of QoS support for the legacy IEEE 802.11 WLANs. It enhances the Media Access Control (MAC) layer operations to incorporate service differentiation. However, there is a need to prevent overloading of wireless channels since the QoS experienced by traffic flows is degraded with heavily loaded channels. An admission control scheme for ...
